If your student(s) will not/did not end the 2023-2024 school year with Huntsville ISD, then they are considered a New Student. This includes all incoming Pre-Kindergarten students, too. All Registration will be completely ONLINE this year! HISD Spring Art Show! The Huntsville ISD Spring Art Show is underway! We are so proud to showcase all of the wonderful pieces of art at this year's show which is currently on display in the Library at Huntsville High School. Credit by Exam Without Prior Instruction Information: HISD students wanting to take Credit by Exam without Prior Instruction need to visit their School Counselor for all Credit by Exam Registration Criteria and Information.   IMPORTANT- Visit the website below to know how to prepare for each test and what materials to bring to the test session.  Some courses require a project or paper to be completed and brought to the testing center on the day of the test.  English courses specify novels, literature, and poetry that must be read in advance of the test.  Credit by Exam Review Sheets @ https://www.depts.ttu.edu/k12/cbe/review/ June 11, 12, & 13 test dates - Registration forms are due to the campus counselor by Friday, April 26. HISD 2023-2024 Calendar Revised - Wednesday, May 22 New Last Day of School The Academic Calendar for this 2023-2024 School Year was revised and unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees on February 21, 2024. The LAST DAY OF SCHOOL for students has been MOVED from Thursday, May 23 to Wednesday, May 22, with May 23 and 24 now both being work days for staff. This change will benefit our staff, especially those relocating to a different building or classroom next year. Huntsville, Texas – Huntsville High School students have earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included in their college and scholarship applications. Receiving recognition means they are a top-performing student. Students can explore their options and form meaningful connections with colleges helping them stand out during the admissions process. Colleges and scholarship programs identify students awarded National African American, Hispanic, Indigenous and/or Rural/Small Town Recognition through College Board’s Student Search Service. Cooper Hooks, National Rural and Small Town Award “We’re thrilled that Cooper has earned this recognition. We are very proud of him for his achievements in the classroom and on College Board assessments,” said Paul M. Trevino, Principal. “These programs help students from underrepresented backgrounds stand out to colleges during the admissions process.” In recognition of his outstanding achievement, Cooper will be honored at a special recognition at the Huntsville ISD Regularly Scheduled School Board Meeting in March. This accomplishment not only reflects Cooper’s exceptional abilities but also underscores the high standard of academic excellence upheld by Huntsville High School. Students who may be eligible have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and are African American or Black, Hispanic American or Latino, Indigenous, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town. Eligible students will be invited to apply during their sophomore or junior year and will be awarded at the beginning of the next school year. Students will receive their awards in time to include them on their college and scholarship applications. “We want to honor the hard work of these students through the College Board National Recognition Programs.
