January 5th, 2024
Greetings Parents/Guardians and Happy New Year!
We are so excited to welcome our Hornets back to campus next Monday, January 8th for the start of the second semester. The first semester was filled with reasons to celebrate both academic and extracurricular accomplishments. Additionally, after analyzing our Fall Benchmark data our teachers are prepared to address every student by standard to ensure academic growth for all students.
I want to personally thank each of you for your flexibility and cooperation during this time of construction on our campus. I have been overwhelmed with the positive support and encouragement as we continue to navigate full construction activities on our campus all while providing every opportunity for learning for our students. This would not have been possible without community and parent support. With that said we are extremely excited and grateful to announce that we will be transitioning to our new cafetorium beginning Monday, January 8th. Please note other important updates regarding continued construction, new additions and transportation processes below.
CAFETORIUM: As stated above, we will be transitioning to our new cafetorium for breakfast, lunch and PM meals beginning Monday, January 8th. We will review all new protocols with our students tomorrow to prepare them for success in this innovative space that they now call home.
FRONT ENTRANCE: Beginning Monday, January 8th we will be transitioning back to our new front entrance (original location) for the remainder of the year. Final adjustments are being made in this area however, 7th grade students who are car riders will now enter the front of the building through this new front entrance. IMPORTANT: Parents visiting the campus will enter through the new front entrance and be welcomed by our front office staff at the business window just inside the front vestibule. The front office window that we have been using during this transition will no longer be used.
ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL/TRANSPORTATION: Beginning Monday, January 8th ALL car rider and bus locations will return to their normal locations. 7th grade car riders at the front of the building, 8th grade car riders at the back of the building and bus loading zones will transition back to the original loading zone located by the gyms and new cafetorium.
7TH GRADE CAR RIDER LINE NOTE: To facilitate a smooth transition back to our front entrance, we will be asking parents of 7th grade car riders to pull forward to the west end of the front awning before releasing their students. This will allow us to release students in shifts the full length of the curb from the west end of the awning all the way down to the sidewalk along the new cafetorium. This will expedite parent time spent in the car rider line. For dismissal, we will ask parents to pull all the way down the sidewalk to our temporary front entrance to also expedite your time in line. We appreciate your cooperation in this process.
SPRING CODE OF CONDUCT ASSEMBLIES:
As we return to campus we will be conducting our Spring Code of Conduct Assemblies through science classes with our students. These will occur by grade level (see schedule below).
Wednesday, January 10th - 7th Grade Assembly
Thursday, January 11th - 8th Grade Assembly
We look forward to welcoming your student back to campus and appreciate your continued support.
Sincerely,
Mr. Josh Campbell
Principal
