District CLOSED Monday, July 8 due to Inclement Weather: Dear Huntsville ISD Employees and Families, Out of an abundance of caution, all Huntsville ISD locations will be CLOSED TOMORROW, Monday July 8, 2024. This decision is due to the forecasted heavy rain and high winds associated with Tropical Storm Beryl, potential for flooding, road closures and power outages, as well as other emergency-related purposes. It's time to Register your Returning HISD Student for the 2024-2025 school year. If your student was enrolled in Huntsville ISD at the end of the 23-24 school year, they are considered a returning student. All Student Registration is to be completed ONLINE this year. You will use your Skyward Family Access Account to register your returning student(s) to the district. If you don't have a Skyward Family Account, you will need to create one once you start the registration process. Also, if you have an elementary student and you do not know what elementary school they are zoned to attend, you'll be able to use the Tyler Tech Versatrans E-Link search program and your address after you start the process to find out. All Student Registration information including registration links, helpful resources and campus contact numbers can be found via the HISD website on the Student Registration page @ https://www.huntsville-isd.org/registration. NOTE: This school year, ALL students (including returning students) are required to provide Proof of Residency before the registration process can be completed.

HISD FREE Summer Meal Program begins TODAY, Monday, June 3rd! No cost meals are available to ALL Huntsville area children and teens ages 18 and younger, and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old. Children do NOT have to be enrolled in HISD to participate. Meals will be available at Samuel W. The LAST DAY of school for the 2023-2024 school year is here! Students will have a 1:00 PM EARLY RELEASE time (TOMORROW) on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. *HHS students will follow their final exam schedule. The HISD Board of Trustees & Administration wish everyone a very safe & happy Summer Break! The FIRST DAY of school for the 2024-2025 school year is Monday, August 19, 2024. CHOIR CONCERT CANCELLED! ATTENTION Hornet families, Tonight's Choir Concert at Huntsville High School for HHS, MPMS and Elementary Choirs has been CANCELLED due to Inclement Weather. The Elementary Choir Students were already bussed over to the high school so Choir Teachers are attempting to contact parents by phone asking them to please come pick students up from the HHS Band Hall (515 FM 2821 E) as soon as possible. PRE-K Round-Up Early Registration has been rescheduled to Monday, May 20 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at ALL 4 Elementary Campuses. (The original date had to be cancelled due to bad weather.) If you need assistance with Pre-K ONLINE Registration, please visit the child's zoned elementary campus during the Pre-K Round-Up time, or by appointment at the zoned campus beginning Friday, May 3.

Huntsville ISD Families and Staff, HISD has been monitoring the inclement weather forecasts and flooding conditions in our immediate area. At this time, we plan to have school as normal tomorrow, Monday, May 6, 2024. We urge families who reside in low lying areas to take all necessary precautions to keep your family safe. We will continue to monitor the conditions throughout today and tonight, and if a change is necessary we will communicate to families as soon as a decision can be made. Huntsville ISD Families, After careful consideration and consultation with local emergency management officials, HISD will continue closure through Friday, May 3. Dangerous road conditions are expected to continue into tomorrow, with more rain likely overnight and many roads outside of town still flooded as of 5:30 PM today. Additionally, our creeks, tributaries and rivers are still rising within our boundaries. While we like to wait as long as possible to make this decision so it can be based on real time information, we also realize the more notice we give families and staff, the better it is for their planning. We fully expect to be back to normal operations by Monday, and any changes or updates will be sent through our mass notification system, posted on the district website (www.huntsville-isd.org) and our official social media pages, and will be communicated to media outlets. Huntsville ISD Families, HISD has been monitoring the heavy rain and flooding overnight across our district. Dangerous road conditions due to widespread street flooding at 4:45 AM is not expected to recede in time for staff and students to get to school safely, therefore school is canceled for today, Thursday, May 2. We will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day and night and will make a determination for tomorrow as soon as possible. Credit by Exam Without Prior Instruction Information: HISD students wanting to take Credit by Exam without Prior Instruction need to visit their School Counselor for all Credit by Exam Registration Criteria and Information.   IMPORTANT- Visit the website below to know how to prepare for each test and what materials to bring to the test session.  Some courses require a project or paper to be completed and brought to the testing center on the day of the test.  English courses specify novels, literature, and poetry that must be read in advance of the test.  Credit by Exam Review Sheets @ https://www.depts.ttu.edu/k12/cbe/review/ June 11, 12, & 13 test dates - Registration forms are due to the campus counselor by Friday, April 26.
