Industry-Based Certifications for HHS
Industry-Based Certifications (IBC) are a valuable component of strong student pathways in the Career Technology Education (CTE) programs.
TEC ยง39.053 requires the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to account for high school students who earn an industry-based certification as one indicator within the student achievement domain of the state's public school accountability system. The purpose of the IBC list is to identify certifications that prepare students for success in the workforce, military, or postsecondary education.
The Industry-Based Certification List for Public School Accountability published by TEA is available for viewing under each one-page document by Huntsville ISD. The one page documents are provided as a resource to help parents and students in their research of industry-based certification options for students. The certifying entity of the industry-based certification determines all requirements for their certification and additional information is available on the certifying entities website.
Huntsville ISD is proud to offer courses that are aligned to 14 of the 16 recognized clusters listed below. See HHS Course Catalog for current offerings.
